The Wilds
By Josh Anderson
The Wilds is the largest wildlife preserve in North America.  The mission is to support wildlife preservation and conservation through education and research programs.

In the early 1980's a group of conservationists, zoo directors, and civic leaders started an effort to establish a reserve that would develop ways to maintain and protect endangered species, limited resources and dwindling habitats..  In 1984,
The Wilds was incorporated as a not-for-profit organization and in 1986, American Electric Power donated nearly 14 square miles of reclaimed, surface-mined land for the project.
More information about The Wilds coming soon.  Included will be a list of species currently there.
